Could Ethics, Aesthetics and Culture reshape our perception of environmental crisis?
“Plastic Age” a term, a real condition and a symbolic marker of human activity in modern civilization, underscores the inevitable interdependence between human progress and environmental impact, as the most severe aftermath of Industrial Revolution.
Plastic consumption is expected to triple by 2060, according to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) because of the economic growth which contributes to greater plastic demand and consequently to increased usage.
How many people recognize the importance of environmental protection and the significance of small daily actions?
Commitments to changes of everyday choices could become the first domino…
The cooperation between Art and Society raises awareness for a single use pollution. Artists Von Wong and Joshua Goh and almost a hundred volunteers collaborate in order to bring Plastikophobia (2019) project to life. Fostering curiosity, conversations and interactivity, spreading of the fear of using plastic, even for the other living beings, such as birds and fishes, this Art Installation cultivate an immersive experience.
Rethinking our moral imperative to protect our common home, Planet Earth, could embark us on a new path and as Dalai Lama note: “In order to carry a positive action will must develop here a positive vision”.
